Nikolaos Jensen

Niko helps global private capital firms build leadership teams and grow their businesses in Japan by combining deep local market knowledge with a long-term advisory approach.
Niko leads Executive Search and Advisory at Fredriks Japan, partnering with leading investment firms across private equity, private credit, infrastructure, real estate, and broader private capital strategies. He advises clients on leadership hiring, strategic team build-outs, and market intelligence as firms establish and scale their presence in Japan.
With 14 years of recruitment experience and more than a decade dedicated to Japan’s investment management industry, Niko brings a rare combination of global perspective and local market expertise. Having lived in Japan for 16 years, he has built enduring relationships across the private capital ecosystem and is known for his thoughtful, discreet, and commercially minded approach.
Prior to his career in executive search, Niko served in the U.S. Marine Corps, an experience that continues to shape his leadership style and commitment to delivering for clients.
Outside of work, Niko is a father of two boys. Any spare time is usually spent in the gym or cycling around Japan. He holds a B.A in International Affairs from Temple University Japan.
